The Académie Rainier III is open to all disciplines, and boasts skills and facilities that place it at the very forefront of specialized artistic teaching establishments.
Music
The Académie Rainier III has an educational, cultural and artistic mission in the field of music, aimed at a wide range of audiences. For some years now, Jazz and Early Music have been offered, and "Musiques Actuelles" (variety music) has had its own department.
Music, the art of participation par excellence and a proven social activity, cannot be practised alone. For this reason, the Académie Rainier III places "Collective Practice" (orchestras of all kinds, instrumental and vocal ensembles, chamber music) at the heart of its training program. In close collaboration with the French Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Académie offers a special timetable for primary and junior high school students, as well as a special timetable for secondary school students.
The amateur curriculum enables those who have no desire or ambition for an artistic "career" to perfect their musical, instrumental or theatrical skills. Finally, the DEM (Diplôme d'Etudes Musicales) is clearly aimed at professionalization, with selective technical admission tests, a motivational interview and a dense, comprehensive curriculum.
Theater
The Theatre Department of the Rainier III Academy is an open space for training in acting techniques, providing a global approach to the art of theatre and live performance. The aim is to impart the technical, theoretical and artistic foundations essential to understanding and practicing today's theater, as it expresses itself in all its richness and diversity in Monaco, the region and internationally.
