Matthias PERSSON

Matthias Persson was born in Sweden in 1964. He learned music in Sweden, studying with Bo Nilsson in Malmö. He spent 2 years in the United States with Mario Guarneri and Thomas Stevens.

In 1984, he joined the Orchestre de Cannes as principal trumpet, before becoming principal trumpet with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo in 1985.

First prize from Pierre Thibaud's CNSM in Paris in 1984 and winner of major international competitions.

Member of Monaco Brass. Matthias Persson has taught trumpet at the Rainier III Academy of Music since 1994.
