Mario MARY
Electro acoustic music teacher
Mario MARY holds a PhD in "Aesthetics, Science and Technology of the Arts" (Université Paris 8). He is currently Professor of Electroacoustic Composition at the Académie Rainier III in Monaco, as well as Artistic Director of the Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica (FIME) in Argentina.
He obtained his Diploma as Professor of Composition at the NLP University (Argentina). In 1992, he moved to France and continued his training in Paris at the GRM, CNSMP, IRCAM and Université Paris 8. He has worked as a researcher at IRCAM.
Between 1996 and 2010, he taught Computer-Assisted Composition at Université Paris 8, where he created and directed the Cycle de concerts de musique par ordinateur. Between 2011 and 2019, he directed the biennial Monaco Électroacoustique - Rencontres Internationales de Musique Électroacoustique.
Composer, teacher and researcher, Mario MARY has won some thirty prizes for instrumental, electroacoustic and mixed music composition in France, Italy, Belgium, Finland, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Brazil and Argentina. He has given around a hundred lectures and courses in various institutions in Europe and Latin America.
