Sacha VANONY

Composer, musician, sound engineer, and professor of Computer-Assisted Music (CAM) at the Rainier III Academy.

Trained in composition and new technologies applied to music creation—notably under Michel Pascal at CIRM and IRCAM—his career path also took him to the University of Gothenburg and the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, and then to Gustave Eiffel University, where he earned a master’s degree in music creation and sound arts. For over twenty years, he has been developing a practice that combines creation, music production, and digital tools.

His teaching approach guides students in the gradual acquisition of artistic and technical autonomy: recording, editing, and transforming sound; MIDI; sound synthesis; arrangement; mixing; and mastering. Learning to use these tools is part of a creative process, allowing each student to develop their listening skills, musical personality, and individual working methods.

In addition to his teaching work, Sacha Vanony is active as a musician, composer, and producer. As a co-founder of Studio Phebe’s in Monaco, he participates in numerous creative, recording, and production projects, from sound recording to mixing and mastering.

His career also includes sound design and musical composition for theater, radio, film, and television, as well as numerous recording and live performance projects. This experience directly informs his teaching by exposing students to the methods, tools, and challenges encountered in the professional practice of sound engineering and music production.
