Valérie SCHAEFFER
Piano teacher
Born into a family of musicians, Valérie SCHAEFFER began playing the piano at the age of 5 with Marcel MERCIER, a disciple of Nadia BOULANGER, Alfred CORTOT and Yves NAT.
She obtained her 1st prize from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Jean-François HEISSER and Marie-Josèphe JUDE, then went on to perfect her skills with Gery MOUTIER and Jean-Claude PENNETIER.
Passionate about chamber music, she is a sought-after partner for the leading soloists of the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre National de France.
As a soloist and chamber musician, she is a regular guest at the Musée d'Orsay auditorium, Théâtre Mogador, Salle Cortot, Amphithéâtre Richelieu at the Sorbonne, Auditorium 106 at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, the Goethe Institut in Paris, the Edgar Varèse auditorium in Lyon, the Grand Théâtre in Limoges and the Pianolines festival in Mantes-la-Jolie...
She also performs and conducts master-classes abroad, in the USA, Germany and China.
Since 2013, she has performed regularly with organist Jean-Baptiste MONNOT, introducing audiences to the little-known repertoire of works for organ and piano.
