Concert as part of the twinning program, Monaco - Dolceacqua

DOLCEACQUA CASTLE

Via Castello, 18035 Dolceacqua IM | Italy

The twinning agreement between Monaco and Dolceacqua was officially signed on the morning of Friday November 3, 2023, in the Salle des Mariages of the Monaco Town Hall, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Georges Marsan, Mayor of Monaco, Fulvio Gazzola, Mayor of Dolceacqua, elected representatives of the two municipalities, H.E. Mr. Giulio Alaimo, Ambassador of Italy, as well as numerous representatives of the highest Monegasque authorities and official guests. The second part of the twinning continued in Dolceacqua, in the ancient Romanesque church of San Giorgio, then in Piazza Mauro for the Italian signing ceremony.

The links with Dolceacqua date back to the Middle Ages, with the marriage of Françoise Grimaldi and Luc Doria. In 2017, the Ligurian town loaned Louis Bréa's altarpiece dedicated to Sainte Dévote and displayed in the church that bears his name - a work commissioned by Françoise Grimaldi in 1517.

Through this twinning, Monaco and Dolceacqua confirm their shared desire to continue forging links in a variety of fields - notably cultural, sporting and associative.

The concert by the students of the Rainier III Academy's mandolin class is fully in line with this approach.
